Description

BCCI 2024 BLL #7 - $480.

This Buck 110 brass bolster clip point, has the Buck Knives BCCI engraving on the back of the ricasso and the knife is signed by the artist on the back of the rocker arm.  You have to look inside the blade well to find my well hid signature.  The cost of this knife is $480.

Lapis Lazuli from Badakhshan, Afghanistan

This is a newer find of Lapis Lazuli with gorgeous deep blue Lapis Lazuli with Quartz in white streaks and spots with many fine glittery pyrite structures throughout.  It is much harder than the more know typical deep Royal Blue Lapis Lazuli.  The blue colors in hand are not quite as vibrant as in the photos but this version of Lapis Lazuli is harder than the Royal Blue, has nearly no texture and takes a good polish. I bought this Lapis Lazuli well before the Taliban issues in Badakhshan.

2/10/2015 - Lapis lazuli mines in northeastern Badakhshan province are controlled by the Taliban who demand around $1 million annually from miners in exchange for being allowed to mine without fear of Taliban attacks, said the report.

In addition, the Taliban earn $240,000 to $360,000 per year in extortion from truckers who carry the stone away from the mines located in a predominantly Tajik-populated area.
