Nipomo Marcasite – This series is finished with very rare Nipomo Marcasite scales.

Nipomo Marcasite is an old stock form of lapidary grade Iron in Quartz from near Nipomo, California. It is a fantastic material to work with, with its iron based plumes and clear quartz agate. It tends to be pretty solid and takes an excellent polish. As in most stone there is some "texture" (lines, pits, vugs ,druzy) but it is not easily seen, being average in scale. It was a very popular old stock material, but has long since been tapped out. Sadly, on the modern market, there is very little Nipomo Marcasite that compares with the quality used on this knife.

This is a Brass Buck 110 clip point that I have added scales made from Nipomo Marcasite, California. The price for this knife is $425.
